Treating Infertility With Chiropractic Care

Chiropractic medicine has evolved significantly in the past few years, and it has also been acknowledged as an effective alternative treatment for infertility.. However, it can seem impossible to find the information you are looking for, particularly when there are so many different points of view. Fortunately, there is a comprehensive website, with extensive and complete information that will make this entire process easier at chiroutah.org.

Chiroutah.org is a website that devotes itself to everything to do with chiropractors and chiropractic medicine. Infertility is often linked with poor health, inadequate circulation,  and poor lifestyle choices. Of course, for every infertile person who is able to quickly determine the reason for their fertility issues, there is at least one person who experiences unexplained infertility.

Chiropractic care treats infertility in a natural, holistic way. Instead of forcing the body to accept eggs that have been fertilized outside the womb, or medicating someone to treat an existing problem, it works by encouraging blood flow in the area of the reproductive organs. In addition, chiropractors often perform spinal treatments to encourage the same blood flow and correct vertebrael damage. Chiroutah.org is an excellent resource for anyone interested in finding out what seeing a chiropractor is like.

Given the overwhelming expense associated with infertility treatments, a well as the side effects of infertility drugs, many people are looking into alternative treatments to help in growing their family. The Journal of Vertebral Subluxation Research documented in 2003 that there is a strong link between chiropractic care and successful pregnancies. They followed 15 women, all of whom had different obstertrical histories. All of these women conceived in no more than two years of the time that chiropractic care began.

Receiving the diagnosis of infertility is frightening for anyone, regardless of their marital or financial status. Being told by a medical professional that your only way of conceiving will involve hormone injection, medical procedures, or drugs makes it even more so. Instead of forcing your body that is not ready to conceive to attempt a conception anyway, it is cheaper and less invasive to treat the underlying issues.

Chiropractic Care For Pain Relief

Anyone who experiences chronic pain knows how hard it is to function. If you are lucky enough to find a medication that doesn’t carry the risk of addiction, you still have to worry about overdosing, as well as the side effects and drug interactions. Chiroutah.org is a good place to look for information about specific situations that might benefit from chiropractic care, as well as people who may not be candidates.

Waking up with, and going to bed with, unending or constantly increasing pain is a horrible experience. There are a variety of medical diagnoses that do not have a cure, and their only treatment is to manage the existing pain. Unfortunately, it is a well-known fact that the average person will eventually develop a tolerance to medication, and will go on to require larger amounts. Eventually, he or she will either experience a reduction in their quality of life, pain that cannot be managed by safe levels of medication, or both.

However, chiropractic care works in a very different way. The Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics recently followed two patients who had been diagnosed with cancer. One man, a 57 year old patient dying of pancreatic cancer, was able to reduce the amount of required medication and feel less pain, following chiropractic care. The other person, a man of similar age, sought chiropractic care to treat his pain from lung cancer. After only two treatments, he was able to eliminate his pain medication entirely. These are only two examples of the benefits associated with chiropractic treatments, and chiroutah.org lists many more.

Whether your pain is the result of a congenital problem, a car accident, an illness, or something else entirely, you do not have to live with it. You do have other options to treat your discomfort besides surgery and medication. Chiroutah.org will help you feel better and improve the quality of your life.

It has been estimated that more than 29.5 million people in the United States suffer from migraines each year. 70-80% of people who experience this debilitating headache each year also have family members who do so as well. Although there are many different symptoms and causes of migraines, the most common symptom is the overwhelming pain associated with the migraine.

For more than 100 years, chiropractors have reported positive results in the treatment of migraines. Although for a brief period of time it was thought that chiropractic care was associated with a higher chance of strokes, it has since been proven otherwise. It has now been established that some migraine sufferers, simply because of these headaches, actually have a higher chance of experiencing a stroke. This is in aaddition to the risks of both prescription and over the counter pain medications. Chiroutah.org is an ideal resource for anyone interested in finding more information about chiropractic care.

Chiropractic care is almost surely the safest way to treat or prevent migraine headaches. One popular theory is that migraine headaches are caused by inadequate blood flow to the brain. With a gentle manipulation, compresses, or other care that is deemed appropriate, you could see long-lasting relief. Chiroutah.org allows you to research more thoroughly the various ways that you could be helped.

Some individuals choose to see a chiropractor, when more traditional care is not working to prevent or treat their pain. It is becoming increasingly more common to combine the two treatments in attempt to manage your pain. Although it is not necessary in most cases to receive permission from your primary physician to seek chiropractic care, you may wish to let them know. At Chiroutah.org, you will find
the positive ways that chiropractors have helped people live pain free. This can be particularly helpful if your physician is not very familiar with alternative medicine.

Even if you have suffered from migraine pain for years, you don’t have to live with it. If traditional medicine has failed you, alternative medicine has the potential to help you live your life the way you want to live it.

Will Chiropractic Care Help With Depression?

When you are stuck in the throes of a deep depression, or when you have successfully battled against that grey cloud of despair, it can seem impossible to fight against it. Current research is suggesting that the common route of therapy and medication is simply not working for many people experiencing depression. This is even more true when depression is recurring. Chiroutah.org provides information on virtually everything to do with chiropractic care.

Most people have experienced depression at one point or another in their lives. It can even be appropriate during a time of grief, or as the result of health problems. A clinical depression is very different, and ideally should be diagnosed by a qualified medical professional. Determining why you are experiencing a clinical depression is vital to the treatment process.

It is very possible that you could benefit from chiropractic care, however, it is possible that you have needs that cannot be fully addressed by a chiropractor. Chiroutah.org can help you determine the most appropriate type of chiropractor for your particular situation.

Alternative care, such as chiropractic care, is often part of a holistic approach to your health. For an illness such as depression that can have mental, emotional, and physical facets, it is often of particular benefit to combine chiropractic care with other treatments. This could include nutritional counseling, yoga, therapy, or other items recommended by your chiropractor. Chiroutah.org offers information from people on both sides of chiropractic care, for more information on what you can expect.

For some individuals who experience depression as the result of inadequate blood flow, an immediate improvement of symptoms is noted. Other individuals will require regular adjustments to see an improvement, and still others will have to combine treatments. There is a theory among many devotees of chiropractic care that simply by living a more healthy lifestyles, and limiting or removing the amount of chemicals that are consumed, improved health will occur.

Chiropractic has changed the lives of many people. It has successfully turned thousands of ill patients into healthy individuals.

The B.E.S.T. Technique in Chiropractic

In chiropractic medicine, there a number of techniques and theories for patient care and spinal adjustment. However, one of the more interesting techniques if not the most well known is called the B.E.S.T. technique.

The B.E.S.T. technique was invented by Milton Ted Morter, Jr., in the mid-70s and stands for Bio Energetic Synchronization Technique. Morter, a chiropractor by trade, claimed that the B.E.S.T. technique coordinated the whole body’s inner workings and biological systems in one program of spinal adjustment, nutrition, and bio-electric manipulation.

Morter claimed that many of the illnesses and maladies found in most people were not the result of injury or sickness but rather of a bio-electric imbalance in the body that caused one’s polarity to be reversed. Morter said that a body’s polarity reversal is manifest in temporary, minute unequal leg length. However, the chiropractor can equalize patient leg length by the application of hands to certain spots on the body called “contact points” where the chiropractor can feel the patient’s “pulsation” or the bio-electric orientation of the body. If the bio-electric orientation of the body is reversed or disproportionate in some way, the chiropractor can use his or her hands (which have positive, negative, and neutral pulsation points) to reverse the flow of energy and return the patient to a balanced bioelectric state, thus restoring equal leg length and combating the illness.

Morter also recommended a diet in which a person eat much more alkaline-forming foods and less acid-forming foods, believing that a balanced diet made of the four food groups was actually leading most people to self-destruction. As a result, Morter advocated saliva and urine testing for body acidity levels in order to determine the amount of supplements a person should ingest in order to maintain a higher amount of alkaline in the body.

Of course, Morter suggested that the B.E.S.T. technique was not a simple regimen for curing illness but rather a change in lifestyle that would lead to more happiness and enjoyment of life. He recommended monthly spinal and bio-electric polarity adjustments, coupled with regular urine testing, for the entirely of one’s life.

Chiropractic Use of Spinal Decompression

Spinal decompression is the act of relieving stress on the spine in order to alleviate the symptoms of disk bulge and herniation, spinal stenosis, and other spinal illnesses. Traditionally, spinal decompression was achieved through surgery. Although the procedures are minimally invasive, they are not usually considered medically necessary, and can be quite expensive. But in the 90s, Dr. Allan Dyer pioneered the use of non-surgical spinal decompression, and now thousands of people each year are treated for pinched nerves and herniated disks through non-surgical spinal decompression in chiropractors” offices, even if the practice of non-surgical spinal decompression has not been definitively proven effective.

In 1985, Dyer built the first non-surgical spinal decompression table, but it was not in wide use until he built and introduced a better version of the table in 1991. Originally the device was controlled pneumatically, but today spinal decompression tables are controlled electronically for maximum and precise effect. Basically, the table consists of mechanical traction that pulls and manipulates the spine to release pressure on pinched nerves or herniated disks. In theory, through multiple decompression sessions, a patient’s spine will decompress to the point where the nerve of disk is released and thus relieves all pain.

Although Dyer was not a chiropractor himself, spinal decompression tables have become popular therapies in chiropractic offices across the country. Because chiropractors deal with issues of the spine, although do not often perform surgery, spinal decompression tables have found to be a good fit in chiropractic offices. However, because chiropractors are not surgically trained, some patients and experts question chiropractors ability or expertise in operating the equipment to its maximum or intended effect.

Although many patents have experienced the fantastic benefits of non-surgical decompression therapy, the scientific proof of effectiveness is still unconfirmed. In a number of studies done throughout the 90s and 2000s, non-surgical decompression was found to have the same effectiveness of surgery. In addition, many studies have found that the use of spinal decompression tables has had a negligible or inconclusive effect on the long-term health and pain of the patient.

Impact of Childbirth on the Infant Spine

The birth process can be very traumatic for a baby’s spine and nerve system. As the baby is pushed down the birth canal during the pushing stage of labor, her body is compressed, and the spine often sustains injury. It is during this stage that the bones of the spine are compressed out of alignment, causing the nerves to be twisted and stretched. This damage to the nerve system disrupts the communication system from the brain to the body and vice versa.
This disturbance of the spinal cord and nerve system is known as a subluxation. Various parts of the body may be affected by this interference of the nerve signals, resulting in less than optimal functioning. Various illnesses or disease can also be brought about by subluxation of the spine. A chiropractor is trained to help to alleviate subluxations in even the youngest newborn.
It’s not unusual for infants to develop subluxations as they are squeezed and compressed through the birth canal. Damage may be more serious with difficult deliveries, and it’s possible for infants to suffer such injuries as brain damage, skull fracture, cord compression or intestinal hemorrhage. Spinal or nerve damage may occur as well. If forceps are used to assist delivery, vertebrae may be moved out of place.
While it’s possible to see immediate symptoms due to subluxations, it’s more common to see issues arise later. Difficulty fighting against disease is one such symptom. Other illnesses can occur, including colds, ear infections, even colic. Subluxations can also suppress immune function.
Newborns can be examined by a chiropractor as soon as a few hours after birth. Regular follow up visits can help to alleviate subluxations, ensuring optimal functioning of organs and increased range of motion of the spine. Chiropractic care for infants is completely safe and can make a tremendous difference in the health of infants and children.

A Chiropractor’s Educational Requirements

Patients that are new to chiropractic may wonder what kind of an education their chiropractor has undergone. Some worry that it is not comparable to that of a Medical Doctor. In fact, a Doctor of Chiropractic receives medical training similar to that of any other physician. A chiropractor’s specialty is the spine and nerve system, while other doctors may specialize in fields such as pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology or internal medicine.
Prior to becoming licensed, a chiropractor must attend four years of college, followed by chiropractic school and complete a hands-on clinical internship. A multitude of subjects are required in the curriculum, including Anatomy, Physiology, Nutrition, and Infectious Diseases. Neurology, Pathology, Spinal Biomechanics and Orthopedics are just a handful of other topics covered in the chiropractic coursework.
A series of national board exams must be passed upon completion of chiropractic school. Each state requires their own licensing exam be taken before allowing chiropractors to practice. In addition, most states demand that practitioners receive yearly continuing education credits in order to maintain their license.
The professional organization that oversees chiropractic licensure is The Federation of Chiropractic Licensing Boards. This non-profit organization has been in existence since 1926, Chiropractic students can also receive specialty certificates from various councils. These certifications are offered in such specialties as neurology, orthopedics, sports injuries, nutrition and internal disorders.
There are 16 programs in the United States that are accredited by the Council on Chiropractic Education. All applicants to these programs must have at least 60 hours of accredited undergraduate coursework in the liberal arts, though many hold a Bachelor’s degree. At some chiropractic schools, students can receive pre-chiropractic coursework, and others offer complete Bachelor’s degree programs.
As you can see, the education required to become a Doctor of Chiropractic is just as rigorous and comprehensive as that of a Medical Doctor. You can feel secure in knowing that your chiropractor is a trained medical professional.

Alternative Medicine: Classifications

Alternative and complementary medicines are healing practices that do not fall within the realm of conventional medicine. Instead of a scientific basis, these are therapies that are generally applied based on historical or cultural beliefs. These beliefs range from folk knowledge, spiritual beliefs, and combinations thereof, sometimes drawing on aspects of conventional medicine. The National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM) has created a widely used classification system for complementary and alternative medicine. This system uses five major groups, some of which contain overlapping branches. The goal of this article is to describe the five groups, and discuss some of the therapies that each contains.
Whole Medical Systems
Whole medical systems generally overlap into the other four groups. These therapies are built on a complete system of ideas and practices. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is a major branch in this group. Most people are familiar with the concept of yin-yang, which is a key theory in TCM. Other branches include ayurveda and homeopathy.
Mind-Body
Mind-body techniques revolve around the idea that the mind can influence the body to such an extent as to cure, alleviate, or lessen symptoms of adverse health, including pain and disease. Branches found within this category often rely on relaxation techniques, especially meditation, hypnosis, and aromatherapy.
Biologically Based
Biologically based therapies rely on natural remedies, and are often cultural practices. Herbal remedies, animal-derived extracts, and the consumption or use of natural vitamins and minerals fall into this category.
Manipulative/Body-Based
This branch is based around the movement of parts of the body with a therapeutic goal in mind. Chiropractic is the most recognized within this branch, and, perhaps of all alternative medicines. Massage therapy is another major piece, as it has followers for both the relaxation and the therapeutic benefits. One other branch that many are familiar with is acupuncture, though it is more often seen used as a part of TCM.
Energy
The final NCCAM category is one that is not well known in the United States. Energy therapy revolves around the belief that the body has an energy force or field, and manipulation of this field can affect one’s health. Electroacupuncture is one branch in this category, but others include martial arts such as qigong.

Chiropractic Care For Animals

Veterinary chiropractic, or animal chiropractic, is emerging as a well-respected branch of chiropractic and veterinary medicine. Both veterinarians and chiropractors can be trained to provide spinal manipulation and adjustments to animals. Enhanced mobility and function as well as improved quality of life are results of veterinary chiropractic care.
A minimum of 210 hours of training is required in order for veterinarians or chiropractors to provide chiropractic care to animals. The Animal Chiropractic Accreditation Commission is the governing board that oversees this training. Animals that are most often seen for chiropractic adjustments are pets, working horses and greyhounds used in racing.
Just as with human patients, the chiropractic practitioner obtains a detailed medical history of the animal patient and will take x-rays in addition to possibly performing laboratory tests before beginning any chiropractic treatment. A diagnosis is then made, and the practitioner takes stock of the animal’s size, gait and posture. Then, chiropractic adjustment of the spine and extremities can be performed.
Some states allow Doctors of Chiropractic to perform spinal manipulations on animals without supervision. Others mandate that a veterinarian must be present in all cases of animal chiropractic. Neurological or biomechanical conditions are most commonly treated with chiropractic with regard to animals. Hip dysplasia, autonomic nerve system problems, cervical instability and musculoskeletal weakness are commonly treated with chiropractic methods in animals.
The benefits of veterinary chiropractic are often immediate, often being seen only minutes after treatment. It’s likely to see an improved gait, with visible reduction of pain. While such care may not always eliminate the need for surgery in animals with severe injuries, such methods may reduce the likelihood of secondary or related injuries from occurring.
Animal chiropractic is safe as long as it is performed by a trained veterinary or chiropractic practitioner. It is imperative that proper force be used in manipulations to avoid risk of bodily damage.
